Barbora Bulantová works as an assistant at the Department of English Language and ELT Methodology at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Her research interests include advanced vocabulary knowledge, language testing, and learner language. As an English teacher, Barbora specialises in teaching very advanced learners. She is also involved in teacher training, and for the past four years, she has co-organized educational events for English language teachers under the TEFL Club platform.
Learning vocabulary is crucial for mastering a foreign language. Consequently, a key task of any language teacher is to identify useful vocabulary for their learners. This workshop will demonstrate how to use frequency data to inform vocabulary selection and enhance learners’ vocabulary growth and skills development. Participants will then gain practical techniques for applying this knowledge in teaching individual words and lexical chunks as well as word parts.
